Happy B'day Daddy!

My dad is my hero, nobody can replace him. Today is my father's b'day, so I decide to make an article about father although today is not father's day.

I'm the oldest daughter that daddy's has, daddy's has 2 other daughters at home, they are Rosa and Elsa.

We love daddy so much, because he always protects all his daughters well. I always tell everybody that my father is my 1st boyfriend, he won't leave his family however the condition. He is the best father ever!

I still remember that when I was a child, I went to a cinema with my dad and Rosa. We watch Jumanji, a film about an adventure of a group of people who lost in a magic game. As good as I remember, it was my 1st time going to a cinema.


So, this article is dedicated to our hero, dad...



Father's Day is celebrated on June 21. Here are steps to make unforgetable gifts to your dad...

Dad Rocks Paperweight

What dad could resist using this glittery paperweight on his desk to show off your love for him? Paint it with his favorite color or to match his office décor.

What you'll need:

• 1 rock heavy enough to weight down paper, about a palm size
• Acrylic paint (We chose blue)
• Gold glitter glue
• Paintbrush
• Acrylic sealer spray
• Black marker
  

How to make it:

1. Choose a rock that is about the size of your palm. It should be heavy enough to weight down a few papers and not be blown away.
2. Wash the rock with warm, soapy water and a scrub brush; be sure to get into all the crevices. Wipe off water with a towel.
3. After rock has completely dried, paint the entire rock with acrylic paint. Let the paint dry and then paint on a second coat.
4. Paint the entire rock with a thin layer of glitter glue and then let dry.
5. Use a squeezable glitter glue bottle to carefully write “DAD ROCKS” on the rock. Let dry overnight.
6. The next day, use a black marker to outline the letters to make them stand out better.
7. Get a grown-up to spray the entire surface of rock with acrylic sealer spray.
   
   

Tips:

• Instead of writing the words with glitter glue, try a paint pen. They write like a pen but go on like paint. You can find them at your local craft supply store.
• Some glitter glues dry puffy and some dry flat (like ours). Experiment with yours first if you like to see how it will turn out.
• Instead of just one rock, paint two and put “DAD” on one and “ROCKS” on the other for a matching set.

Smiley Daddy & Me Magnet

Everyone knows what smileys are, so why not make one of you and your dad? This adorable magnet is perfect for attaching to a filing cabinet, refrigerator, or even a tool box.

What you'll need:

• ¼ c salt
• ¼ c water
• ½ c flour
• Cookie sheet
• Acrylic paint: yellow, peach, black, white
• Paintbrush
• Toothpick
• Acrylic sealer spray
• Magnet
• White craft glue
  

How to make it:

1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
2. Mix together flour, salt, and water. Dough should not be sticky; you should be able to work it in your hands. If it is too sticky add small amounts of flour until you get the consistency that you want. Be careful not to add too much flour as your creations will crack!
3. Pull a piece of dough off and form a ball by rolling it in your hands. Flatten he ball of dough onto the cookie sheet, it should be about ½” thick.
4. Repeat the above step; only make the second ball a little smaller. Lay it on the cookie sheet and flatten it to ½". Place it carefully over the larger circle and use a knife or the toothpick to cut out a piece of the larger circle to fit the smaller circle into. Carefully push them together.
5. Roll small pieces of dough to form the round noses. Flatten in your hand and then place onto the two faces.
6. Use a toothpick to draw on the smiles. Be sure to do this step before baking.
7. Place cookie sheet in oven and bake for 2 ½ hours.
8. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
9. Paint faces yellow and noses peach. Let dry. Repeat for a second coat.
10. Use the handle end of the paintbrush to add whites of eyes. LET DRY completely before adding blacks of eyes or they will run together.
11. Add blacks of eyes in same fashion as the whites.
12. Use toothpick dipped in black paint to draw within the smile lines.
13. Get a grown-up to spray the entire surface with acrylic sealer spray.
14. Glue a magnet to the back and let dry.
    

Tips:

• Personalize your smileys by adding hair, glasses or freckles.
• Make a family of smileys or just add more kids.
• Salt dough is basically one part salt, one part water and two parts flour. We recommended a small batch above. You can make as much or as little as you like. Keep in mind that you cannot save it, it will dry out, so only make what you need or intend to use.
